SENNHEISER AND KLEIN + HUMMEL NOMINATED FOR TEC AWARDS

OLD LYME, CONNECTICUT - SEPTEMBER 2008: Sennheiser and Klein + Hummel are nominated for outstanding technical achievement accolades, which will be presented at the 24th Annual TEC Awards this October. Past multi-winner Sennheiser, again, makes the nomination list with its MKH 8000 series of microphones, while Sennheiser Group-company Klein + Hummel is recognized for its O 410 mid-field monitor. More information on each product can be found at www.sennheiserusa.com/TECnominees. Both products will be proudly displayed during AES 2008 at booth #1210.

Sennheiser's modular and compact MKH 8000 Series, selected in the "Microphone Technology/Recording Products" category, lends subtle and incredibly natural warmth to a variety of applications, including broadcast, recording and performance use. Available in three models-the MKH 8020 (omni), MKH 8040 (cardioid) and MKH 8050 (supercardioid)-the series achieves top-quality speech, vocal, and instrumental reproduction with an extremely wide frequency response. Ranges include 10Hz to 60kHz (MKH 8020) and 30Hz to 50kHz (MKH 8040 and MKH 8050). The MKH 8000 microphones are finished with a Nextel-black coating to prevent glare.

The Klein + Hummel O 410 mid-field monitors, nominated in the "Studio Monitor Technology" category, is specially designed for use in music, broadcast and post-production studios for tracking, mixing and mastering. The O 410, which can be mixed freely with other Klein + Hummel loudspeakers, features a dedicated mid-range driver for extremely low harmonic and intermodulation distortion and outstandingly clean audio reproduction. The O 410 adapts to a variety of environments, as it accepts any source equipment with its standard analog output and optional transformer-balanced and 192kHz, 24-bit digital inputs. Flexible acoustical controls include bass, low-mid and treble controls for specific and common acoustical issues and a parametric equalizer for additional low-frequency corrections.

Additionally, Neumann, who is celebrating 80 years of audio excellence, will be inducted into the TECnology Hall of Fame for its CMV3 condenser microphone (1928). The bottle-shaped microphone, which was one of Georg Neumann's initial developments, featured interchangeable heads, one of which is still being produced today as the K 49. Neumann has been selected for induction every year since the inception of the TECnology Hall of Fame in 2004. Past inductions include Neumann's U 47 switchable-pattern condenser microphone, the invention of phantom power by Georg Neumann in 1966, the U 87 studio microphone and the stereo disk lathe.

The TEC (Technical Excellence & Creativity) Awards and TECnology Hall of Fame are organized by the Mix Foundation for Excellence in Audio. Initial TEC Award-nominee selections are made by a panel of prominent professionals from all areas of the audio industry. Winners are determined by Mix subscribers via an online voting process.
